Nautical Navy and Tan Wedding Theme and Colour Scheme

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with the colour navy. Half my closet is navy, I swear. I find it such a versatile colour and is a great alternative to black.

Now, keep in mind that I'm an east-coaster. I've lived in Nova Scotia my entire life and having never lived more than 5 minutes away from the salt water, I have a soft spot for anything nautical. Anchors, sail boats, buoys and rope - I love it all! The nautical theme is also gaining more and more popularity for weddings as well so I decided to put together my take on the theme.

Navy and white are of course the staples of this theme. Some people leave it at that, and some people add red accents, but I chose to draw attention to some light tans - think sand and driftwood. These shades add warmth to the colour scheme without being overly dramatic. The focus is still navy, but now we have a nice neutral to play around with as well.

Take a look at this adorable anchor cake as well!
