Blue and Green Tartan Wedding Colour Scheme

This colour scheme is dedicated to my fellow East Coast brides! Those of us from here tend to be pretty proud of our home, and we aren't afraid to let our pride shine. Inspired by traditional Nova Scotian tartan, this palette focuses on shades of blue and green but has a touch of elegance with ivory and a gold accent. I can really picture this being used for a winter wedding, but it's very versatile and could easily be tweaked to be used year-round!

What I love about this colour scheme is that it shows that you don't need a wedding filled with tartan bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen in kilts to have that Nova Scotian/Scottish theme. Less is more with this pattern and there are so many ways to add tartan in a classy way. Personally, I love the idea of navy or dark green bridesmaids attire and grey suits for the boys. Another great touch would be bouquets and boutonnieres wrapped with tartan.

Feeling a little more rustic? Try pairing this with wood, pinecones and lace!

It's all in the details:

  • A tartan ribbon wrapped around an ivory cake
  • Tartan-lined envelopes with gold lettered invitations
  • Ivory roses
